I would like to thank Joe Arena for all he does for the club and the kids
with the juniors program. Also on a personal note for
all he has done for me and my kids. Joe has gone above and beyond to
promote and teach the kids and adults fire arm safety, ethics and hunting
skills.
Joe has been taking Garrett and myself hunting this year. That
I am very grateful for. With Joe's help we
have had a great hunting experience and enjoying
ourselves and the company of the kids and guys he has been taking us with.
Joe took Garrett out last week I was unable to go do to my other
kids commitments. We got up and had him ready around 4:00am I told him
today will be your day because I wont be there. This was the coldest day of the
year so far. They went out early to Cape Cod on the
oceans edge and then it happened Garrett bagged his first duck. As
proud as could be when they got back to the truck Garrett called me.( I got
one it's a black!! )
I congratulated him and was happy for him. I met them
back at the club where Joe was teaching Garrett to gut the ducks. Garrett was
excited to gut and dress out the ducks he has already breasted
out some of Bill's ducks but this would be another first. As Joe works
him through the process they come to pulling out the heart Joe comments how good
they are fresh and tells Garrett as he is wiping one off in
his hand you can just eat them just like this. Then tells Garrett I'll
eat one and you eat one, with no hesitation he follows Joe's
lead down they go. This kid is on his way to become a great hunter. He
also cooked the ducks up for the following Wednesday night
events where he had made duck soup and two roast ducks. Congratulation to
Garrett . Thank you Joe for every thing you have done for us and the club.
